Our Response to the Newly Passed Hemp Regulations in Kentucky

As many of you have seen, Congress has passed new regulations that would limit hemp-derived products to 0.4 mg of THC per unit 12 months from now. While this ruling would effectively eliminate nearly our entire product line as it stands today, we want to be transparent about what this means and equally clear about where we go from here.

First: We are not giving up.

For almost seven years, Kentucky Botanical Co. has operated with one mission: to provide clean, reliable, well-manufactured hemp products for people seeking an alternative path to wellness. We built our business on integrity, education, and community--not on trends, shortcuts, or questionable practices.

In Kentucky, we already have existing regulatory framework, which we believe is the best in the country. Those rules--strict age limits, robust lab testing, clear labeling, manufacturing oversight, and more--were designed to protect consumers while allowing responsible businesses like ours to operate safely and ethically. The new federal-level framework dismisses these thoughtful, common-sense regulations in a way that will negatively impact both small businesses and consumers, without addressing the true bad actors.

And still, we remain hopeful.

Twelve months is a long time. Policy changes, amendments, clarifications, and legislative corrections happen every day. We have no intention of stepping back from advocating for a better path--one that protects consumers without eliminating access to the high-quality products that have helped countless Kentuckians: veterans, teachers, parents, caregivers, first responders, and everyday people looking for relief when nothing else worked.

We promise to stay engaged, stay informed, and stay active in this fight. Our commitment to safe access and responsible regulation has never been stronger.
